Vergil nodded and followed the woman in silence, leaving Nero to trail after them if he wished. He wasn't really sure what was so important that they would need to go someplace private that could possibly involve all three of them. He'd never even met this little brat before, and obviously he hadn't seen Lady in many years either. Not since that last time... but the devil shook his head to rid himself of the memories before they could fully form.
The half demon followed Lady out into the night with a quiet sigh. He vaguely recalled passing the park on his way here, so at least he knew it wasn't that far. "......"

The walk to the park, although brief and without interruption, had been the most excruciating awkward silence she had ever experienced in her life. Mostly because she felt as if she had been holding her breath for the majority if not the entire twenty-five minutes it took to arrive.
It was strange really, that she should find herself at such a loss for words when there was so much that needed to be said. Lady had played out this scenario in her head many times in the past but things were always different in reality.
Taking a seat on a nearby swing Lady cleared her throat gently and waited for Vergil to join her; attempting to find the best place to start in the little time it took the white haired devil to get settled.

Vergil was silent as they walked to the park. He didn't have anything useful to say, so he decided to let the woman take it upon herself to initiate the conversation. He sat on the swing next to her and gave Nero a pointed look that said to either find a seat or get lost, before he turned his attention to the woman beside him. "We're all here and ready now, explain yourself."

"Well damn, you don't have to be so demanding." Lady snapped, narrowing her eyes and momentarily feeling like her old self again. If she remembered correctly that was precisely what got them into this situation in the first place. While that wasn't exactly one of the traits she admired in Vergil she was thankful for his lack of patience in situations like these; right now, she needed someone to keep her from purposely dragging things out any further. Her blue devil was obviously more than happy to comply.
"Look, there really isn't a gentle way for me to say this..you..or rather we have a son.." As soon as that sentence left her lips Lady felt her throat closing up in response, Her words loud enough for only Vergil to hear. Although she was curious to learn more about Nero's origin, it wasn't often that one randomly ran into a white haired teen resembling people she knew, this was between herself and the father of her child. "And there's more... he.." Lady struggled to remain in control, the last thing she was going to do right now was cry in front of Vergil.
"He was taken from me... The Sons of Sparda aren't exactly a well kept secret..every demon in the Devil Kingdom is itching for a chance to seek revenge. They could smell his blood the moment he was born and attacked the hospital when I was at my weakest, only two days after I gave birth.." While it killed her to admit to such a painful moment of weakness, especially when her sons life was at stake, there was only so much the huntress could do on her own. The guilt of losing her unborn child without putting up a better fight ate her up inside and it was obvious. "I did everything I could to protect him but I was outnumbered." Chancing a glance at Vergil her hetero chromatic eyes met with his briefly, a little apprehensive of his reaction but curious to see how he was processing the horrible news she was throwing his way.

Vergil was deathly silent as he listened to Lady speak. What the woman had to say was a far cry from what he'd been expecting, that much was for sure. It took him several minutes of replaying her words over and over in his head to be sure that he'd heard her right, and even then he wasn't exactly sure that he had. It all seemed too... off the wall. But then again, when was anything ever normal in their lives? There was no lie in Lady's eyes, and why would she have a reason to, especially with such a ridiculous notion...
"......" The half devil was quiet for several long minutes as he stared at the ground, trying to decide how to handle this. His emotions were all over the place and the man wasn't quite sure how he felt about all of this. "....Is he alive?" Vergil asked in a grim tone.

"Please say something.." Lady pleaded softly when she could stand his silence no longer. It was Vergil's way, she had learned this a long time ago but that didn't change how this uncertainty was making her feel. Hesitant as she was to admit it Lady needed him right now, she needed whatever support he was willing give. Lady was not completely alone in this, their son was just as much his and it was hers.
When he finally spoke an involuntarily sigh of relief escaped. So he wasn't completely enraged, that was a good sign. If he was willing to sit there and go over this with her calmly they might make it out alive with minimal scars. "I like to this so....He is your son after all." It was cold comfort, but it was the only shred of hope she had to hold on to, the only thing that truly helped her sleep soundly at night. Their child certainly had more than enough of it's parents determination and resilience coursing through it's veins, if nothing else, Lady's refusal to give in no matter how grim the situation would keep him alive. With the genes his father had contributed, it wasn't absurd to think that he would do just fine on his own wherever he was. Vergil had survived a trip to hell and back after all. What concerned her the most was that no one had been present during his upbringing, or so she believed, to explain exactly what that demonic part of him was and how to control it.

Vergil sighed heavily when Lady spoke again. Maybe it was foolish, but he liked to think that her 'mother's instinct' would tell the woman if their child hadn't survived. It was still a lot to take in, but the devil was unconvinced that she would make such a wild story up, so he resigned himself to it being the truth. There was plenty of time to ponder the whys and the hows later, right now he wanted to know the where.
"Mary. I understand you wanting to tell me this... but why is he here?" Vergil asked, motioning to the younger male hovering a short distance away. He was too bewildered with the entire situation to even consider a logical reason for it.

That was a damn good question, one Lady wasn't entirely sure she knew the answer to herself. While it was true none of this really concerned Nero and it seemed rather rude to allow him to tag along Lady still couldn't help but feel drawn to him in some unexplainable way. She'd only heard rumors and what little Dante was willing to share from his trip, one of those stories involving something rather important that Vergil might be very interested in. "To be completely honest I'm not sure.. I feel like I should talk to him, It's strange and a little awkward I know, but, I can't really pin point the reason. There's just something really familiar about him.. I was hoping as a demon you might be able to tell me.." Watching Vergil curiously she took the time to admire him further in the dim light, he was older yes, but still exactly the way she remembered him. Right down to the way he wrinkled his nose when there was something he disliked and that adorably disapproving face he made when he was mulling over something of importance.
"I think you might want to speak to him about the whereabouts of something very precious to you..." Lady suggested, remembering very well the conversation Dante had with Trish while he thought she was sleeping in the next room.

Vergil nodded slowly as his gaze flickered over to Nero a short distance away. "I will admit, his appearance is....unsettling, but I suppose white hair doesn't mean much." Vergil pursed his lips as he tried to feel the same sensation Lady was feeling, and that same familiarity washed over him, making his forehead crease in concentration.
A singular silver eyebrow arched when Lady mentioned something important to him. He turned an accusing stare on the boy and frowned deeply. "Is this true?" he demanded as he leveled his gaze at the brat. If this child had something of his on top of just irritating him beyond belief then Vergil definitely wanted it back.

Nero had been very considerate, in his own opinion. When the "adults" had clearly wanted to talk without him, he had hung back out of earshot and let them have their little pow-wow without his interruption, even thought it was boring in the park and...well it wasn't as though he had anything better to do. He wondered if Dante was asleep by now. He'd probably have to be quiet when he got back to the shop....
The point was, Nero had been considerate, so he didn't really appreciate it when the feeling of Dante's creepy twin's glare made the hairs on the back of his neck prickle. He looked over at them and scowled, barking, "What?"

Vergil scowled darkly at Nero's response. That boy would have to be taught some manners eventually. "Lady tells me you possess something that belongs to me," he snapped back. "What is it, and why do you have it?" the devil demanded.

Nero crossed his arms and jutted his chin out defiantly. Unconsciously the glow of his Devil Bringer flared slightly with his mood. He assumed the 'possession' was probably Yamato, but he didn't trust Vergil as far as he could throw him, and there was no way he was going to give the weapon up just like that. Unintentionally he angle his torso slightly to hide his devilish right arm.
"I don't know what you're talking about."

A low growl escaped from the older man's mouth as he rose from the swing he was seated on. No one was very intimidating when they were sitting on a swing. "Oh, but I think you do know..." he hissed as he approached Nero. He hadn't missed the sudden change in the boy's demeanor. "It would be wise to just give me what's mine."

Nero realized his mistake as soon as Vergil had stood to approach, but he held his ground and turned to face the other man again, unfolding his arms and taking up a 'bring it on' stance. His human hand was curled into a fist, and the talons of his Devil Bringer curled toward his palm like a claw.
"You don't scare me, old man. Bring it,"[/color] he snarled.

"Normally I wouldn't hit a child but for you I'm willing to make an exception," he replied frostily as he stalked over to the devil hunter. Vergil narrowed his eyes at the challenge and approached the other male, regarding him for a moment. That claw-thing of his might prove to be troublesome, so he would just have to make this quick. With that thought in mind, the corners of Vergil's lips quirked up slightly and he vanished suddenly, having teleported into the air behind Nero.
