Presenting [Dante]
CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character Name: Dante Sparda; Dante Redgrave
Date of Birth / Age: Okay. Well. From what I've gathered poking around this site Vergil is Nero's dad, and Dante and Vergil are twins, and Nero is 19. So at minimum Dante should be around 36. But it says that Vergil is in his late 20s. So Vergil was 10 when he conceived Nero? >.>
... I am going to say 36.
Nicknames: Not really. He mostly goes by Dante.
Position: Half-breed
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Appearance: Dante measures up a little over six feet tall and weighs close to 210lbs. It might be easy to assume all that weight is from the pizza he's constantly gorging on but the reality is that the Devil Hunter is almost pure muscle. He tries to keep his hair cut somewhat short though it's obvious he doesn't really care to go to go to a barber all that often; currently it's down to around his chin. His eyes are a deep blue.
'Eccentric' would be a good way to describe the way Dante dresses and it's become clear that, throughout the years, the male has taken to almost mocking himself with his outfit. Ranging from shirts consisting of nothing more than a leather strap to leather chaps, it's obvious that he just doesn't care. Lately though his fashion sense has seemed to tone down as Dante leans more toward almost practical clothing - pants, boots, vests, and jackets with more than enough places to store and conceal Ebony and Ivory.

CHARACTER PERSONALITY
Strengths: It takes a hell of a lot to really get under his skin; Despite Dante's 'devil may care' attitude he has a kind heart and often does things simply because he knows it's the right thing; As a half-breed Dante has tremendous speed and strength. He has been shown to simply shrug off mortal wounds such as being shot in the face and stabbed in the stomach.
Weaknesses: Booze and ladies would be two of Dante's biggest weaknesses. In most situations he knows how to handle both of them but it's not unheard of him for him to try for too much. The end result is a sore head either way, be it from a handover or from getting punched. He also is a bit emotionally detached though at first glance it's hard to see this. The devil-hunter definitely has a good heart but there's a limit as to how close people can get to him. When that limit gets pushed he resorts to just cracking one crude joke or another until the moment passes.
Personality : Dante can come off as a bit aloof to those around him, which isn’t exactly that far from the truth. The man is far from heartless but does things the way he sees fit, and if busting down a door to get inside a building is quicker than climbing in through the window that is exactly what the half-demon is going to do. Dante has a rather easy-going outlook on things though, despite his job, and the people he comes in contact with he tends to keep a rather relaxed view on things. The half-demon has a bit of trouble taking things seriously. He has an almost difficult time being serious which shows quite often when he fights. He can be serious when the situation calls for it, but it’s a rarity.
Dedicated to his work Dante still finds himself constantly in debt, and while that sort of predicament might make anyone grouchy the slayer –though he gripes and whines- seems to kill demons and the like just for the sake of doing something good. Though he finds himself in constant debt to Lady and others he doesn’t hassle clients for payment. In the end Dante has a good heart. Unfortunately just because Dante has a good heart doesn’t necessarily mean he makes good decisions all the time. The half-demon is fairly promiscuous and he also enjoys getting extremely drunk.
OVERALL BACKGROUND
Father: Sparda (deceased)
Mother: Eva (deceased)
Siblings: Vergil
Overall History: Dante was born and grew up in a fairly loving - if not decidedly atypical - household that consisted of himself, his twin brother, and his mother. Sparda wasn't around all that much and Dante didn't exactly understand why, or why his mother told both him and his twin that they needed to pretend there was only one of them, but he was happy and content with his life. He knew he wasn't normal like other kids but as long as he had his brother other kids didn't matter at all.
Until he turned eight and his whole life was turned upside down.
Dante's history.
Since the fall of the Order Dante has returned to what he knows best - killing demons for hire (and, in most case, for free as well) and eating pizza. Lately though he has started to notice that rather odd increase in demonic activity, though mostly only because he's finally started to see some positive numbers in his bank account for once. As much as he's wanted to ignore the tell-tale signs of something being wrong the devil-hunter has started to realize that maybe this is something he needs to investigate.
Role-Play Sample
(from another site~)[/b] Dante said idly enough. The fact that he was more or less a giant slut never really bothered him, and the fact that Orion was calling him out on it certainly didn’t make a difference on that now. The man’s luck with women was definitely nothing to gawk at. He had been punched and kicked and god knows what else his fair share of times. I just do odd jobs for them. Like kill the demon that killed their family. Dante had opened his mouth to say that, only to clamp his jaw shut, smirking just a bit. He knew that wouldn’t have gone over well with Orion, and at least he had the sense not to blurt it out like an idiot.
Dante couldn’t help but snort a little at the disbelief in Orion’s voice when he said he didn’t know how to cook. The half-demon was more or less incapable in a kitchen. He could heat things up, but when it came to actually cooking he definitely wasn’t someone anybody would want in the kitchen. A good portion of that was simply because, yes, he was lazy and just didn’t like cooking when he could order pizza.
”I’ve never directly paid a woman to sleep with me,”
The half-demon continued to rock back and forth in his chair, watching as Orion started to stumble over his words and he couldn’t help but snicker. If he really wanted to fuck with him he could actually pretend to be genuinely offended, but he decided against doing so. There was really no point. If anything it would just end in the blond being pissed off at him, and while that didn’t really matter in the long run he was paying for food and whatnot. Dante knew that he really wasn’t the most experienced hunter out there, but he also was one of the best as far as he was concerned. He had an advantage that a lot of hunters really didn’t have.
Dante frowned thoughtfully at Orion’s last question, Why…? The reason behind that wasn’t exactly something he kept secret. It had been demons that had ended up killing his mother, and that was what had sparked Dante’s passion in demon hunting. And then it turns out Vergil wasn’t dead. Thinking about that, about what had happened made the half-demon cringe. The two brother’s didn’t exactly get along, but…
”My mom was killed by demons, and I figured that if I just started killing them eventually I’d find the douchebag that was responsible.”[/b] Dante shrugged just a bit at that, ignoring Orion’s dismissal of the question. ”After that I figured I was good enough at it, and I could do it better than most people, so there was no point in stopping.”[/b] [/blockquote]
