A yawn escaped the white haired man sitting in his usual booth in his favorite restaurant. Waiting for his pizza always bored him... "Man, I really need to call these orders in ahead'a time." He grumbled as he looked out the window towards the city which was cast in the orange glow of dusk. "Guess that last mission wasn't so much of a dud after all..."

Outside of the restaurant a tall figure stood in the shadows, staring into the large windows that flanked the front of the building. The person he was looking for was inside, but the figure wasn't sure if he was ready to go in and face him. It had been a few years... would the man even want to see him? 'Probably not...' he thought to himself, shaking his head. Even so, despite his doubts, he'd been putting this off for far too long. Lady had encouraged him to meet with the white haired figure currently sitting inside the restaurant, but the figure had delayed it every single time. Now he had no excuse, Dante was here, and so was he.
Taking a deep breath, the figure pulled the hood of the long dark jacket up to cover his hair. He needed to be less conspicuous when he entered the restaurant, lest he cause a scene. Obviously people had seen him around town already, but thus far he'd managed to pretend that he was Dante, so this would surely be a shock. The man had left the fancier blue coat that Lady had given him at home in favor of something that stood out a little less, and now he gripped the long dark trench coat he wore in its place around himself more tightly. "Here goes..." he murmured, trying to recall some of the bravado and calm collectedness that he'd once possessed before his entire life had been turned upside down. There was no reason to be apprehensive, he just wanted to talk, and surely Dante would realize that... or so he'd hoped. The man had even com unarmed, just for that purpose.
With a sigh, the figure proceeded into the restaurant. He brushed the greeting he received from a waitress off and mumbled that he was 'meeting someone' before making his way further into the restaurant. It felt like his entire body was wound too tightly as he approached the white haired devil hunter's table, but finally he paused next to it, unsure of what to do next. To break the tension the figure cleared his throat, hoping he didn't seem as nervous as he felt. His hood still obscured his face, but the figure was certain that Dante of all people would have to at least think he seemed familiar...

The instant the front door opened Dante’s nerves lit up, much like the street lamps outside. Keeping his face toward the window, his eyes darted toward the door to see who had walked in. He was so focus he hadn’t even noticed the young waitress place his order on the table in front of him. Why did this person seem so damn familiar? He uncrossed his arms on the table and hissed when his hand brushed the hot pizza pan, not expecting it to be there. “Damn it…” He shook his hand, trying to get rid of the slight sting in his finger then paused when he noticed the person in the dark coat was walking towards him.
Lifting a slice from the pan, Dante’s eyes quickly darted up to snatch a glance at this person’s face; only to find out he could barely see anything under their hood. He thought he caught the color white under the hood but shrugged it off to practically swallow the slice of pizza in his hand whole. He dropped his eyes to the booth across the table from him; he couldn’t shake the buzzing in the back of his head. This couldn’t really be who his senses seemed to think it was.
He was expecting the stranger to stop near his table, and so wasn’t surprised when it happened. So taking another slice from the pan and without lifting his gaze from the empty seat in front of him, he asked. “Can I help you?”

The figure silently cursed under his breath once he realized he didn't know what to say to Dante. He couldn't stand there all night looking like an idiot, especially not when the devil hunter before him seemed so nonchalant. Did Dante really not know who he was, or was the man just a better actor than he'd remembered him being? There was no use in stalling, however, especially since people were beginning to stare. Apparently it was 'socially awkward' to approach someone's table in a crowded restaurant wearing a hooded coat and then to just stand there. The figure sighed, he was still reintegrating into regular life after so long in Hell, how was he supposed to know he'd draw more attention this way?
Finally, deciding this was just getting awkward, the figure spoke up. "May I join you?" he asked, and without waiting for an answer, he sat opposite of the infamous devil hunter. He felt especially ridiculous still wearing the hood, Dante had to know it was him by now, so with just a little trepidation, the man pulled the hood back to reveal strikingly white locks of hair underneath and a face that mirrored the one across from him. "...Hello again... brother," he spoke, a little quieter this time as he waited for Dante's reaction.

Dante’s eyes widened once he heard the all too familiar voice, dropping the food in his hand back into the pan he slowly looked up. “Holy…Shit.” was all he could manage to say at that moment. He blinked, thinking maybe he was daydreaming. He looked down at the pizza thinking maybe they’d slipped something into the cheese; it did taste kind of off.
No, it was him, his brother, his twin brother; it was Vergil. He quickly pulled himself together and picked up his food, continuing where he left off. He slid the pan over so it was closer to Vergil, offering him a slice without speaking. His mind was racing as he tried to think of something, anything really to say to the man across from him. Too many thoughts were racing in his head at once, too many questions….Where did he even begin?

Vergil resisted the urge to roll his eyes at his brother's obvious shock. He knew he would be just as surprised in Dante's shoes, and he supposed the other male was handling it pretty well. He certainly didn't need to start this little 'meeting' out with an argument over his attitude either, so he kept his face as it's usual mask of indifference and allowed Dante a few moments to gather his composure.
When Dante seemed to regain some of his normalcy and tried to offer him some of the pizza, the elder twin couldn't help but to snort and wrinkle his nose slightly. "You know I don't eat that," he replied coolly, as if it was utterly ridiculous for Dante to think he'd want the pizza. Vergil wasn't so much offended by the action, it was more or less a habitual reaction, even after the many years it had been since they'd been in a position to argue over pizza consumption. Vergil still didn't understand his brother's love of the greasy slab of disgustingness.
A few more moments passed in silence from Vergil's end before he finally sighed and folded his arms across his chest. "I suppose you have questions..." he trailed off, offering Dante a place to start since his brother obviously didn't know what to say to him right now.

Dante couldn’t help but grin when Vergil turned down his offer. Wait for it-Yep, he wrinkled his nose. “Thought I’d be nice.” He chuckled and sat back in the booth, watching his brother. Looked like Vergil was just as uncomfortable and awkward as he was at the moment, of course that was to be expected after their last meeting.
When Vergil asked if he had questions it was his turn to snort. “Where the hell do I even begin? How long have you been back, where are ya staying…How’d you…Come back..” His gaze dropped just slightly with that last question. Knowing what he’d done on Mallet Isle, once he found out exactly who that knight had been….It took a long time for him to just bury it in the back of his mind, those thoughts were better off where he could forget about them. But now seeing his brother, alive and what looked to be well, in front of him...Those thoughts were starting to surface again.

Vergil supposed it was a good thing that Dante had that ridiculous smirk on his face, but a part of him wanted to smack it off, for old times sake, of course. "How adult of you," Vergil replied in a tone that made it clear he was attempting a joke of some sort. He was still getting used to all this, and being 'friendly' with Dante definitely didn't come all that naturally, especially after so long.
The elder sibling sighed as Dante rattled off his questions, and he didn't miss the flicker of emotion that passed across his brother's face at the last one. "Well... I've been back a few weeks now I suppose, and I've been staying with Lady," he replied, and quickly held a hand up in a silencing motion before Dante dared to say anything about that. "Before you fly off the handle, I wouldn't let her tell you, so don't bother her about it," Vergil explained, narrowing his eyes slightly in warning. "As for your last question... well, let's just say I'm a lot tougher than either of us probably thought, though you of all people should know that..." he added with a sigh.
Vergil leaned back slightly in the seat, relaxing just a bit now that the tension was starting to ebb away. "Lady and I bumped into each other... quite literally, when you sent her out on that job near the ruins," the elder devil explained.

Dante rolled his eyes, “Gee, thanks…” he muttered and sat back in the booth, keeping his eyes on his brother as he answered all Dante’s questions. He couldn’t help as the small smile crept across his features as his twin spoke.
“What? Lady kne-“ He snapped his mouth shut when Vergil’s hand rose. “You’ve been stayin’ with her huh? You’re a brave man.” He chuckled and stole another slice off the pan, nearly finishing his pizza as his brother continued to answer his questions.
“I should know huh? Well you’re stubborn as hell that probably helped.” He thought it’d be too mushy to tell his brother how much he missed him, or how he felt about that incident so instead he settled for just listening to him quietly.

Vergil nodded his agreement when Dante called him brave for staying with Lady. He knew first hand how tough she could be, but he didn't mind. "That's not all..." he muttered under his breath where Dante probably couldn't hear him, but his brother didn't really need to know about that little detail... Not yet, anyways.
"Hng, something like that," the older twin shrugged and nodded. "I see you've managed not to get yourself killed... or have a heart attack from eating that," Vergil said, motioning to the pizza while he wrinkled his nose again. Dante was always so reckless, but always seemed to come out on top, he supposed things hadn't changed in all that time.
