"Go check out the reports Dante says... " Lady mocked in an exaggerated voice that was to resemble the Devil Hunter's, " Go see if it's anything we should be concerned about..." She continued, "like I have nothing better to do than go on errands for you while you stay on your couch eating pizza." She scoffed, adjusting Kalina Ann and tucking a knife into her boot, her VZ61 skorpion strapped to her thigh as it always was. Still she had to admit, she was rather happy to be out and about, on the hunt once more and anticipating battle. The past few months had been less than thrilling, and aside from the usual boring jobs nothing had seemed out of the ordinary. While there had been various reports of demons, and a significant spike in criminal activity in the area, it wasn't until the recent earthquake that the Devil May Cry team decided it best to investigate. Should the two events go hand in hand, it might not bode well for anyone.
So here she was, at the scene of the crime, so to speak, just a ways away from Temen- Ni- Gru tower.. a location filled with anguish and memories she would rather not relive at the present time. Lady could almost smell the hallways, hear her fathers voice and see Vergil and Dante locked in an endless battle as clear as day, momentarily overwhelmed by the sudden rush of it all, it was almost too much to bear. If she didn't know better, she'd assume Dante was playing a cruel joke on her by sending her to the one place she hated most in this world, but his mind didn't work that way. And he had probably forgotten what this area meant to Lady. Regaining control, she forced herself to press onward, not allowing her past anymore reign over her.

It was unclear how much time had passed since he'd been here. The passage of time was warped in this place, and the lack of any distinguishing features of night and day made it all blend together after a while. None of that mattered to Vergil, however, because no matter how long it took, his priority was getting out. It had been foolish to come here, he could admit that now. He was unprepared and unaware of just what he was walking into when he'd attempted to take on the Prince of Hell. What had followed after that was still a blue, the half-demon unable to tell fact from fiction or even remember most of it. One thing he did remember, however, was a red coat. Even under the control of Mundus, he could at least recall that much. But now it would seem that the demon prince had been defeated, and ever since Vergil had found himself able to roam freely where he'd once been forced to walk whatever path Mundus had ordered. It was quite nice, with the exception of the fact that every living creature here seemed to have it out for him. Vergil blamed it on his heritage.
Vergil took no time to rest, however, despite how long he'd been walking and how hard he'd been fighting. He was determined to get out of here and back to the human realm. As much as he was loathe to admit it, this wasn't the place for him anymore. For as much as he wanted to leave, the demons seemed determined to keep him. Obviously old wounds were slow to heal, and he was constantly being held accountable for his father's, and now his brother's, actions. Vergil pursed his lips as he hurried through the dark corridor he was in, easily brushing a weaker demon aside as it attempted to assault him. Icy blue eyes never deviated from the path, even when the creature howled in pain and exploded from it's wounds. Vergil was on a mission, and he knew he was getting close to reaching his goal. This area was familiar to him, he was certain of it. ' I must be close...,' he thought to himself as he hurried along, ignoring the fatigue threatening to overtake him.

There was a certain ominous presence in the night air, she couldn't quite place it, nor did she have the ability to sense where it was originating from, but it was there. Starting out as a chill in the back of her neck and slowly creeping down her spine as she inched closer to her destination. The suspicious stench, of what seemed to be a mixture of rotting corpses and old gym socks, emanating from a warehouse just up the road was a good indication of what was to come. It was enough to nearly cause Lady to vomit but she attempted to ignore it as best she could.
Lucky for her, she was headed into the only building in the area that made that decrepit warehouse seem like a field of daisies, creepy remnants of an old Gothic church of sorts. "This looks promising.." Lady muttered, reaching a hand around to unhook Kalina Ann from its holster, her trusty weapon at the ready, as she entered the church. It was dark, silent, and there didn't appear to be much movement, aside from the occasional rat or two. If there was one thing that really made her uneasy it was complete silence, on top of that, she couldn't help but get the feeling that she was being watched. But that was about to become the least of her worries.
Lady was examining the churches corridors and rooms for all of twenty-five minutes before things took a turn for the worst. Losing her footing as the floor crumpled around her, she was sent crashing downward and into the endless darkness below, a pile of ruble the only thing breaking her fall... "I'm going to kill Dante when I get back" Lady groaned as she sat up and rubbed her head. Although she wasn't exactly sure where she was, she wasn't going to find any answers-- or a way out-- by lingering around.... "Lets just hope this doesn't lead me to the Demon Kingdom.." Lady thought out loud, forcing herself to get on her feet. It was best to keep moving in places like these and that's exactly what she intended to do. Feisty as she was, she wasn't sure how she would fair in a world that held such power for Demons and Devils, but she was ready to face whatever this place had in store for her.

Vergil traveled in relative silence except for the soft thumping of his bare feet on the ground. His shoes has been ravaged beyond use long ago, along with the majority of his clothes, leaving the half devil in tattered rags. It was still better than being naked though, which Vergil was grateful for; this scum didn't deserve to look at him. The only other sounds besides his determined gait were the distant growls and snarls that constantly rung out whenever the demons in the area were on the prowl. Vergil wasn't concerned, however, too determined to get out of this place to let something like death, or worse, stop him now. Gritting his teeth, Vergil pressed onward, unable to ignore the fact that the growling in the distance seemed a little closer now.
After a while, Vergil was certain he had been in this place before, which was a rare thing for him since the Demon Realm was so vast and ever changing in some parts. The further he walked, the more familiar it seemed, and that unsettled him. Old memories he'd thought he'd forgotten began to creep up, putting the demon on edge as he hurried through. "How long has it been now...?" he murmured to himself as he walked. Vergil found himself feeling a bit nauseous as he thought back on the events that led him to this point. Everything was flooding back so clearly now, and he couldn't stand it. He had been so close, and then everything had been ruined.
Vergil was beginning to get lost in his thoughts when a very sudden and loud sound caught his attention, making him freeze in his tracks. It was a very out of place sound, which is what disturbed him so much. Years of living here had honed his senses to the different types of demons and the sounds, and even scents they made, but this was something entirely different. Vergil frowned, his jaw set in a hard line as he glared into the distance towards the mystery sounds. He couldn't afford to stay in this spot for too long, however, since he knew that the demons trailing him would easily catch up if he lingered. The half devil proceeded forward once again, much more cautiously than before, keeping himself to the shadows so that he might be able to catch whoever or whatever it was off-guard, or at least skirt it all together if it was something he couldn't handle.

Lady got to her feet shakily, her head pounding from the impact her body had made against the concrete, eyes blurry and struggling to see against the darkness as a result. Still, she fought to regain control. Raising a hand to gently touch the source of her pain, Lady was surprised to discover a damp, sticky substance clinging to her raven locks. She was bleeding and while it wasn't enough to be life threatening, it was just enough to leave her slightly disoriented. Or worse, attract trouble.
"I need....to get out of here..." She whispered to herself, the scent of death and decay growing stronger with each step she took. There were sure to be demons lurking around the corner, and in her current state she wasn't sure how many of them she could handle on her own, but she would die defending herself regardless, because that was the kind of woman she was. In the midst of all the chaos she had failed to notice her Kalina Ann was no longer with her, having been knocked out of her arms when she fell, with that realization a wave of panic took over her and she found herself frantically searching for her beloved weapon. Nearly crying out with relief as her hand brushed up against the cold, hard bayonet at the tip, the last connection she had with her mother and she loved it more than life itself. Lady took a moment to safely fasten her weapon to the holster on her back-- as handy as it was it was tad bit too heavy to be carrying around-- her pistols sufficing for now.
She could just barely make out a source of light, as dim as it was, at the end of the corridor and it was incentive enough to pick up the pace until she reached it. The room she now stood in was significantly larger than the one she had been in before, the fact that it branched off into different corridors making her feel uneasy, it was easy for one to get ambushed in rooms such as these. I'm not going to wait for that to happen... Lady thought, choosing the corridor adjacent to her, removing the safety from her pistols and cautiously advancing.

Vergil wasn't sure what he was heading towards, but he had no choice but to keep going. He refused to turn back, no matter what was up ahead, and even in his run-down state his usual confidence lingered. The half-demon was certain he could handle himself, and if he died, then at least he would go down fighting. Vergil crept along as silently as he could, keeping himself shrouded in the shadows so maybe he could get the jump on whatever was out there. He couldn't deny that he was without a weapon and in horrible condition, he needed every advantage he could get.
The half devil was sure he was getting close to whatever had caused the commotion before. He could make out footsteps in the distance, two legs, from the sound of it. It didn't walk with the gait of any demon he knew, it sounded... small. Like human sized small. Icy blue eyes narrowed dangerously and Vergil pressed himself into the wall, body frozen and ears straining as he tried to pick up on more details. Of course, a human being down here would be ridiculous, for one, they shouldn't be able to get in so easily, and secondly, he highly doubted one could survive for this long in such a place. No, more than likely it was a higher level demon just taking that form, much like his own father had, and that was what worried him the most and finally started to rattle his overflowing self-confidence.
Vergil stayed frozen where he was in the blackness, hardly daring to breathe as the figure approached. It was getting close enough now that he could just start to make out a vague shape. It definitely appeared to have a human shape as it walked closer and closer. The body language the figure sported seemed overly cautious, as if they were looking for something or someone, and he hoped if it was a higher level demon that it wasn't him they were looking for. Vergil flexed his fingers, wishing he had the familiar weight of his old sword in hand, but it couldn't be helped now. As the person came closer, it became more apparent that it was a woman. The hair was cropped rather short and was dark, and Vergil had the overwhelming sensation that he knew her.
It was hard to ignore the way his body tensed up as Vergil watched the woman approaching from a ways down the corridor. 'Calm down,' he ordered himself as he tried to ignore the growing feeling of recognition. He didn't have time for memories right now, he could be killed if he didn't get it together. As the woman got close enough for Vergil to start to make out her face, the man took a step back in the darkness to distance himself, inadvertently stumbling over a small hunk of debris that had crumbled from the wall. The noise echoed loudly in the mostly empty hall and the demon cursed under his breath as his cover was blown.

As if being trapped in such a disgusting place wasn't enough, now she was beginning to see things, strange figures and shapes passing quickly out of the corner of her eye, having no way of being certain if those creatures of the night were actually present or if she was simply hallucinating. "And now I'm losing my mind.... Fantastic." She thought, her pace quickening once more, and as she continued down the hallway she quickly noted that the corridor seemed to be narrowing, the temperature in the room dropping significantly along with it. It was freezing. Were she able to see properly, she was certain she would be able to see her breath leaving her body.
Lady could barely make out what appeared to be a silhouette lurking in the shadows, the loud echo that followed confirming her suspicion and reassuring her that it, in fact, was not a figment of her imagination. Without hesitation her pistols were up and at the ready, leading the way for her, fingers gently resting on the trigger in anticipation. What she discovered, however, or rather, what she believed was before her was probably the last thing she had expected to find in this crypt for the damned. But it couldn't really be him, could it? "Vergil.... " Lady said out loud, the words escaping before she could stop them.
There had to be some logical explanation for this, right? A gas leakage, or maybe she had hit her head harder than she realized. Lady was used to seeing and interacting with Dante so her mind, in it's current state, manifested something that resembled him? Oh who was she kidding. This was hell. It was official. She was in hell, why else would Vergil would be here? While she couldn't make out his features in this dimness, the closer she got to him, the more confident she became in her assumption that it truly was the one and only, Vergil. And by the looks of it, he had one hell of a story to tell.

Vergil clenched his teeth together tightly in frustration as the woman quite obviously heard him and began to approach. To make matters worse, it seemed she was armed, and he couldn't go back, so he was going to be forced to confront her. The demon steeled himself to face the figure, his chest puffing out slightly in a manner more resembling his usual confident self and his eyes turned frosty, daring the woman to attack him, and hopefully seeming much more intimidating than he felt right now. All thoughts of fighting were quickly shoved aside, however, when the woman spoke his name. That voice, he remembered it so clearly.
Several long moments passed before Vergil finally reacted, having been standing there in stunned silence for a while. It definitely looked like her, the last human he remembered seeing before ending up down here, but it had been so long... how could he be sure? The events of his life weren't exactly secret, so it was easily possible that this was some sort of trick or trap to lure him in. It was an odd choice, he had to admit, but he wouldn't put it past the creatures here. "...." Vergil continued to stare the woman down, scrutinizing every little detail and wracking his brain to compare it to what he'd seen years ago, but so far, it all matched up. She even had that god awful weapon strapped to her back.
Finally, Vergil stepped out of the shadows, though still kept some distance between them as he slowly started to walk in a circle, trying to get a better look at her and gauge the situation. He didn't care that he looked much worse for the wear, tattered and blood stained clothes that were barely recognizable except for the faintest hints of blue and gold detailing to show how magnificent his outfit had once been. His shoes were long gone, and his pants were getting there, completely shredded from the bottom up to his knees and tattered above that in places. His body wasn't any better, his hair was matted and plastered to his skin, a little longer than before he'd come to this place, and his skin was caked in layers of grime and blood since a bath was hard to come by when you were constantly fighting. Despite all that, Vergil at least took some comfort in the fact that he still looked like himself, still had to same aura of superiority about him and still had the same cold intensity burning in his eyes.
"... Mary," he finally greeted, managing to sound every bit as cold as he used to as he purposely called her by her proper name, waiting to judge her reaction. So far the woman seemed like the feisty brunette he'd met so long ago, but he couldn't be sure yet. He figured at least if it was her, then he might be able to get out of here easier, considering she had gotten in somehow.

"Vergil." Lady replied, with more confidence now, her eyes locking onto his. For a second she was overtaken with the need to rip his still beating heart from his chest, anger and hatred welling up within. She may have "forgiven" but she would never ever forget what took place that night in the tower, and it took everything she had to keep a level head in her current situation. Knowing all too well the repercussions of rushing into battle blindly, the large scar on the back of her thigh a constant reminder.
From what she could make out, he didn't appear to be at one hundred percent, an observation that could prove useful in the near future. What else could one expect from years spent in the Devil Kingdom? To be honest, she was rather surprised to see him in this...human... form, she was sort of expecting scales and wings... at least, that was what she usually encountered. The dark haired hunter knew very little about the true layout and inhabitants of the Demon Realm, aside from what she encountered in her own wold.
"Well, you look like shit." Lady finally managed to get out after a long pause, her pistols still fixed on their target, eyes refusing to leave his. Oh how the mighty had fallen... Arkham's daughter had grown up quite a bit, it was true, since the last time she laid eyes on Vergil, even going as far as learning to accept and co-operate with Devils like Dante and Trish, despite their true nature. Humans and demons were equals in their capacity for both righteousness and destruction. Yet, everything about him remained the same, something told her that Vergil was still not one to be trusted, not until he gave her a reason to think otherwise.

Lips pressed into a thin line as Vergil felt himself being scrutinized by the woman. He wanted to growl in annoyance, but that might scare or anger her into pulling the trigger and he really didn't have the energy right now to be wasting on regenerating from bullet wounds. The silence that hung between them was anything but comfortable, but the demon held his ground, piercing eyes locked with the mismatched pair across from him. Vergil refused to back down though, and instead folded his arms across his chest with a soft snort. Icy blue eyes rolled when Lady told him how bad he looked; he hadn't expected anything less from the fiery woman. "As lady-like as ever, I see,' he replied dryly, shaking his head. The half devil was beginning to think that maybe she might prove to be more than a hindrance to his escape than anything else. 'Lovely.'
Vergil finally unfolded his arms and glanced in the direction Lady had appeared from. Apparently it was the right direction to get out of here, or so he thought. "What are you doing here?" he questioned the brunette suddenly, cold blue eyes flickering back to meet her gaze. Vergil didn't really care for whatever business she was here on, but he definitely needed to know if she was stuck here or had a way out, not to mention whether or not he should be concerned. It would be just his luck that Dante was up ahead waiting, and at the moment he didn't particularly care to bump into his younger twin.
All in all, Vergil had to admit he felt a little lucky. This place could be a maze that never ended at times, but Lady might just be able to lead him to the exit he was looking for. The demon tried not to roll his eyes as he considered the fact that she more than likely wouldn't be willing to help him, but he knew better than anyone that a human, no matter how tough or strong, wouldn't last down here all alone for very long. Not to mention, the woman was bound to run out of ammo eventually and then she wouldn't stand a chance. This realization caused a tiny smirk to appear on the man's face, since now he at least had something to bargain with.

"And you're as frigid as ever." Lady said, annoyed. "You also smell.....like feet..wrapped in leathery burnt bacon." Reaching into one of the ammo pouches resting against her hip she pulled out a small wash cloth and handed it to Vergil. "Here, clean your face...." It's not like she was purposely trying to ridicule him, alright, maybe just a little, she was merely pointing out her observations. But he had to admit, the look and odor he was sporting was rather atrocious.
"Oh you know, just enjoying the scenery...." Lady replied sarcastically. "What do you think I'm doing here...your "better half", too lazy to get his ass off his couch, sent me to investigate the recent spike in demon activity in the area. Which I'm assuming has something to do with you, doesn't it?" She rambled on, momentarily lowering her weapons, "and because you demons are such amazing architects... I somehow ended up down here...with...you..." finished Lady, " But why am I telling you all this." She thought out loud, adjusting the straps around her shoulders for a moment. The more time she spent there talking to Vergil, the less time she would have to find a way out of this prison, and since she wasn't planning on moving in anytime soon, it was time to go. "Well, I think that's enough chit chat for now, I'll be seeing you. Oh and fyi, the area back there is completely caved in...so unless you're also part gopher...It's of no use." And with that she began her trek down the corridor once more, her pace not as hurried as it previously was.
Lady managed to make it to the end of the hall which lead into another large room that branched off before coming to a halt, struggling with herself internally to make the right decision, much to her surprise, she felt a twinge of guilt for leaving him like this without being provoked. Sure he was infuriating and had a way of always getting under her skin, even without words, but did he deserve this? " For nearly bringing about the destruction of the human world? Yes... What if something horrible happened to him down here? It would be her fault.."He's a devil... he can take care of himself.." She doubted he would be able to fend off the hordes of the undead forever. It would save her the trouble now wouldn't it, why did she even care was the bigger question. Either way, If he was truly set on tagging along with a human, a part of herself that he refused to let her forget, which ironically was a part of him also, he would come and find her.

Vergil took a little pride in how irritated Lady sounded with him now, and to think, he hadn't even done anything this time. A soft snort escaped his lips when the woman commented on his smell and then went through the trouble of finding him something to clean his face with. "Excuse me for not living up to your high standards whilst living in squalor, Mary." the demon scoffed, though he did appreciate the chance to wipe his face off, even if it barely helped, it was still better than nothing. Vergil scrubbed his face over with the cloth, which instantly turned a disgusting shade of reddish-black. Wrinkling his nose, the half devil tossed the small piece of fabric away since it was far beyond salvageable now and turned his attention back to the woman.
Muscular, filth covered arms folded over Vergil's chest as Lady began to explain just what she was doing down here. He wasn't surprised in the least to hear that Dante had passed off such a thing to her. "How... expected of him," Vergil muttered, shaking his head in disgust for his twin's laziness. It was an insult to share the same face as the man most of the time. Vergil shrugged lightly when Lady accused him of being responsible for the apparent rise in demonic activity in the human realm. He couldn't deny that he had been trying to find a way out, but the movements of the other demons weren't his concern, and whether or not they got out, he personally didn't care, as long as he could get free too.
Vergil tried not to roll his eyes when Lady explained she was lost; well, there went that plan. "How lovely for you," he replied with a subtle smugness in his tone at the way she complained about being stuck with him. His icy blue eyes narrowed in annoyance when Lady explained that she was continuing on and that he couldn't get through the way she'd come from. 'This just keeps getting better and better,' he growled mentally. Vergil didn't feel that he owed her any sort of protection or obligation, but nevertheless he trailed after her at a distance with the excuse to himself that he had no choice but to go this way, and he was mildly curious as to just what she planned to do on her own down here.
Lady seemed to stop up ahead of him, and Vergil felt himself smirk a little more. She was lost, obviously, and he felt a small sense of satisfaction at that, thinking maybe she might be taken down a peg and ask for help. "That would be a miracle," the devil snorted under his breath. He normally couldn't care any less what a human thought or did, but she was always so feisty and never held back from saying or doing whatever she wanted to him, and it was infuriating and intriguing at the same time. "Problem?" he called out as he approached from behind, a hint of amusement coloring his tone. This was going to be so enjoyable for him. There was no way she would find her way out, and then she would be stuck begging for his help.

The Huntress stood there in silent debate for a few moments, weighing the pros and cons of the situation carefully, too wrapped up in her own thoughts to notice Virgil closing in on her. He was Dante's brother after all, and despite everything they had been through, Dante still cared for him. Taking into account the numerous times the Red Devil Hunter had rescued her from sudden death, she owed it to him to at the very least, temporarily, 'assist' his older brother. It was up to the two of them to resolve the rest. But that didn't mean she was suddenly going to trust him, or that she disliked him and that sarcastic, mightier than thou air of his any less.
"I hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the ass." She contemplated, upon making her decision, convincing herself that the reasoning behind all this was to repay Dante. That nagging feeling deep in her stomach told her otherwise. He was the distraction she had promised herself never to fall prey to, the set back that would only lead her to trouble in the end. And she was in a dark corridor with him, barely dressed and weakened, the source of her vexation.
As much as Lady hated to admit, the two of them were very much alike, fueled by their need to avenge the death of the mother that was taken before her time. Vengeance bound them together, if nothing else, it was the one thing they both understood well. "Make no mistake, I won't hesitate to kill you if you attempt to deceive me." Were the first words that came out of her mouth when he finally reached her. If he thought otherwise, he was a fool. "No." She snapped back, offended by the implication that she was unable to navigate the area and care for herself properly, when it appeared to be the complete opposite. "And the name is Lady."

Vergil scoffed lightly when Lady immediately threatened him if he tried anything on her. As if he even needed to waste the energy. He wanted out of here and so did she, it was as simple as that. There was no need for deception while they were both working toward a common goal. In fact, as much as he loathed to admit it, this was one time when team work was not only wanted, but it was required. "I wouldn't dream of it," he replied in a droll tone, the slightest hint of a smirk on his usually impassive face. This was going to be interesting, to say the least.
A light chuckle escaped the demon's lips when Lady heatedly denied that there was a problem. Really, Vergil didn't see why she was even bothering to deny it when she was so obviously completely and hopelessly lost. When the woman corrected him on her preferred name, Vergil just rolled his eyes and waved it off. "My apologies, Lady" he muttered dryly and started walking back the way he'd come from down the hall. "Oh, and just so you're aware, there's a pack of demons trailing me, so it would not be wise to linger here, considering it's a dead end now," the half devil pointed out over his shoulder as he walked. She had no choice but to follow him unless she planned to stay and fight alone, and this thought caused Vergil to smirk a little more while simultaneously making him feel a little strange in a way he couldn't quite describe. The demon brushed the thoughts aside, however, having more important things to worry about at the moment if he wanted to survive.
Vergil walked at a steady pace, making sure not to go too fast, lest Lady lag behind him and they get separated. As infuriating as the woman could be, he didn't fancy finding her in pieces later on down here. The devil had no real implication that he was going in the right direction as he approached another room that branched off into even more corridors, but he didn't have much to lose by trying them. "The air is colder here..." he said quietly, mostly to himself as he glanced into the darkness of the hall to the far left. Vergil glanced back over his shoulder to check whether or not Lady was still there and motioned to the new area he'd approached. None of this really rang a bell, but then again it had been years since he'd been through some of these places, and he wasn't really taking notes on the architecture.

So it appeared they had come to a mutual agreement, finding it necessary in order to escape from this labyrinth and for the time being, she was fine with that. Lady didn't waste any time, not bothering to wait for him to finish his sentence before she kept moving, her arm gently brushing up against him as she passed."At least it's a bit easier to see in here ..." She commented, the candles scattered through out illuminating the area nicely. Well, she could see where she was standing now, that was pleasant. Not much of an improvement to her current predicament but it was a start. What was really beginning to trouble her was the lack of demon encounters thus far, by her calculations, she had to have been in this Cathedral for an hour or two. That was plenty of time to stumble across something.
Pacing briefly she surveyed the area curiously, taking note of her surroundings and momentarily crouching down to examine what she concluded to be dried blood trailing out of a passageway. Well I know it's not this way... Deciding it best to avoid that direction she stood once more, casually glancing over to see what Vergil was doing, her gaze lingering on him longer than it should have. Lady had never really taken the time to look at him, really look at him. He was impossibly handsome, even in this light and in those distasteful rags, his intense blue eyes highlighted by his strong features, almost angelic and so very unlike his brother, who had the attention span and personality of a five year old. She would admit, there was a period in time where she had developed a bit of a crush on Dante, but that quickly diminished after months and months of time spent with him. He had quickly become a sort of brother to her, difficult and ridiculously hopeless all at the same time. Vergil on the other hand, was unlike any other male she had ever encountered, human and demon alike. He was a knight, a dark angel, something so superior and out of reach, honorable and driven even in his cold silence.
Odin's beard, he was going to be the end of her. And she had to tear her eyes away, turning her back to him once more as she suddenly became aware that she was staring.
If they were going to continue onward...together... she had to find him something else to wear. Having no interest in seeing him in all of his glory as they attempted to flee this madhouse, her cheeks slightly flushing at the mental imagine that accompanied that thought. Good thing her back was to him. Oh geeze..What is wrong with you? He almost got you killed... He's the enemy... Lady scorned herself, refusing to make any further eye contact; once again blaming her momentary insanity on the head wound she had completely forgotten about. In an attempt to redirect her train of thoughts, she addressed Vergil from across the room, choosing the first thing that popped into her head as a topic of conversation."What happened to that sword you always carried around with you?"
