With the discovery of his real name and the promise of power that was presented to him, the fire devil had gotten more brash the last few days, though nothing that would have the devil hunters after him. However, Blaze thought it would soon be time to make his intentions known. To return to his former glory was the demon dragon's goal. What more than to explore the locations where he could gain access to his real home, the demon realm? The devil believed he could start his search at the Cathedral, and that is where he was at now. He could sense the aura the location gave off, the demon world had a strong influence here. The pureblood stalked around the building, night giving him cover as he walked around it. He stopped at the front, gaze falling on the double doors. With a devious grin, Blaze cracked open one of the doors and slipped inside. The room was dark as expected and he stood still to let his eyes adjust to what little light remained here. He frowned greatly when he saw that the hole in the floor was blocked. He would have to find another way in. Walking over to the opposite wall, explored the damage. There was a way in, the fire devil believed this with his whole body and mind. What he seeked was here somewhere and Blaze was going to find it. |

Gazing up at the cathedral, Mihoko wondered if she should even be there. She wasn't human after all nor was she holy. She was afraid that she would get struck by lightning from out of nowhere. The cat girl would have to face her brother and Shinji eventually. She honestly didn't want to give up on her brother, not yet. She just hoped that she wouldn't run into the blonde demon first. She brushed her fingers up against the door lightly. She took in a deep breath and pushed it opened. Her pupils enlarged so she could see better as the door slowly closed behind her.
"...I shouldn't be here, I shouldn't be here. This is dangerous," she repeatedly said to herself as she continued moving forward. She sensed the demonic aura from inside and it sent chills down her spin. She had no idea that the old, abandoned building was a gateway to the demon realm. She walked down the aisle carefully, letting her hands caress the pews as she stretched her arm outward. At the time, Mihoko didn't know that she wasn't alone. A familiar aura was being drowned out by the demonic aura. She saw a figure move by and she stopped, rubbing her eyes.
"Who's there?" She whispered in a tiny voice. There was fear in her voice. Her legs felt heavy and she hugged herself close. She wasn't used to such a powerful amount of demonic aura in one place. She rubbed her eyes again and watched as the figure moved toward the opposite wall. The light was fate, so she could hardly make out who was there. She was too afraid to even advance. "...Shinji...?" The feline didn't know why he was the first person to come to her mind.

'Who's there?' The fire devil turned around, catching the scent of someone familiar. "I think I know that voice... Mihoko, is that you?" He squinted his eyes then made his way over to whom he presumed was the cat demoness in question... Only for him to slip into the hole in the floor. He could see the waves of demonic energy coming from where he had fallen into. "Ow," Blaze grunted and stood up. He felt the ground beneath begin to crumble and he immediately leapt for the ledge above him. He grabbed hold of it and pulled himself up. That was close. Too close. Blaze had almost plummeted into Hell for real. Getting back up would be no easy task, either.

The figure called out to her. A surprised look fell upon her face as it was recognizable. She smiled happily, knowing exactly who it was. As he advanced toward her, his figure quickly vanished. Mihoko blinked and tilted her head to the side. She hoped that he was alright. She heard the fire demon grunt out a quick 'ow' and she giggled. It would take a lot to injure the demon.
"You clumsy oaf, be careful." She heard the sound of something collapsing, but wasn't quite sure where it was coming from. The redhead scoped out for Blaze and then saw him resurface. She sighed in relief and headed for him. She had a few questions for him. Once she got closer, the girl noticed the gigantic hole in the floor. She decided to keep her distance and called out to him, "you didn't come here to pray, did you?" Mihoko grinned, not being as tense as she previously was.

The fire devil stood and dusted himself off. "I couldn't help it, the floor tripped me!" he defended with a grin. He shook his head and leaped over to her, landing a few feet away. "And no, I did not come here to pray..." He nodded to the hole in the floor where the demonic aura came from. "A gate to Hell resides here."

"...The floor tripped you? Yeah, okay." The girl shook her head and smiled. She watched as he stood to his feet and dusted himself off. He jumped toward her and then acknowledge the hole with a nod. She drew her attention away from him and eyed the pit. She was surprised at where the hole led. Mihoko drew back more even though there was no reason to. She wondered what business he had in Hell. At least she knew where the demonic aura was coming from.
"So you've known it was here somewhere the entire time? I only came here to find someone. Anyway, what are you gonna do there? ...I think you should stay here." The cat demon had more questions for him, but kept her mouth shut. She didn't want to bombard him with annoying questions. The cat was fond of him and didn't want him going any place that she dared not go. She was just worried about his safety. He had his own free will. Even if she told him not to go, he probably wouldn't listen. She kept jumping to conclusions without knowing his intentions.

"Its only natural for one to return to their home," Blaze answered her inquiries with a smirk. He then closed his eyes, shook his head, and then sighed. "I'm not going in there.Not alone anyway. It would be foolhardy to even attempt such a th-" His words were cut off as the floor beneath him gave way. He should have moved further away from the pit and now he was dangling above the demonic portal to the underworld. He gulped and called out to the cat demon. "Mihoko, little help here..."

She was never curious about her origins. The human realm was her comfort zone and she didn't want to leave it. Blaze stated that he wasn't going alone. She hoped that he wasn't going to attempt to talk her into going with him. Trouble always seemed to be lurking around him. The floor gave way and she gasped as he dangled above the portal. Mihoko groaned and put her hand on her forehead. He called to her for help and she groaned even louder.
"Blaze, what makes you think that I can help you out? If your fat ass was able to cause the floor to cave in, then my ass combined with yours will make us BOTH fall in. I want to stay in the human realm. I'm not going with you."
The girl shook her head angrily. That was her final answer. She would, however, help him before he fell in. She headed for him slowly, eying the floor as she stepped carefully. Her tail stood up straight as she tried to keep her balance just in case the floor started cracking. Once she reached him, she crouched down sluggishly and extended her arm. She grasped his hand tightly and started pulling.

"I'm not fat, the floor is thin!" The fire devil defended himself from the insult the cat girl had thrown at him. He had a lean figure and he was proud of it. When Mihoko leaned down to pull him up the floor gave way completely but before they both could fall in, Blaze triggered and flew them both to safety.

Mihoko ignored him and kept trying to pull him up. Once the floor gave in, the cat girl screamed. Her shriek was cut off short when the fire demon triggered and flew them to safety. She huffed, shaking violently. She clung to the demon tightly, her tail fluffed out. She was obviously terrified. The feline wouldn't let go of him.
"....you're...you're crazy.."

"And if I am?"The fire devil grinned, showing off a row of sharp teeth, including his elongated demon canines. He pushed open the door and slipped back outside. He pried her claws out of his hide and sat her down. "I was only checking it out to see if it was safe." Now that was a flat out lie and he knew it.

Mihoko didn't answer him. He grinned widely and this made her ears perk up. She gasped and her face turned pink. She quickly turned her gaze away. He pushed the door opened and the two were back outside. He forced her to stop clinging to him and put her down. She rolled her eyes and folded her arms.
"Well, it obviously wasn't very safe, now was it? You could have gotten hurt, darn it. Don't you even care about your own safety?" The cat girl asked, not looking at him. She bit her lower lip and her ears laid flat against her head. She didn't believe him. Her anger subsided and she sighed, staring down at her feet. "I'm never going there. I may miss out on an opportunity to find my brother, but that's the last place I'm checking!"

The fire devil sighed and shook his head. "No. And I do care, that's why I was checking the area out. I'm not going to enter in it alone, but with a group." Blaze looked away for a moment before adding,"I suppose you wouldn't know what it was like to have your own realm to rule over, now would you?"

"You...do care? Good. I care, too." She rubbed her arm gently, avoiding eye contact. The cat demon raised a brow, her curiosity showing. There was a supposed group going with him to the demon realm. She couldn't hold back her questions any longer. She leaned in, wanting to know more.
"A group, huh? What are you guys going to do there, hm? At least you won't be alone. If you---no, when you get back, you better not have any scratches, bumps, or bruises! If I see one teeny tiny scratch, I'm gonna beat you down."
Maybe she was using that as an excuse to give the fire demon a hard time? She knew that she was slowly getting emotionally attached to Blaze. It bothered her because she was breaking her own promise about not wanting to let anyone in, to avoid friendships. She was quickly being consumed by her own thoughts when the demon broke her trance. She was oblivious to his question and sat down, hugging her knees close. What did he mean by ruling her own realm?
"Hmm, I guess I don't. The humans have this place and we have the demon realm. Is that what you mean by ruling? Blaze, even though I'm not human, I wouldn't fit in. I'm different from you. As long as I can remember, I've always been here. I reek of humans. I even have the demeanor of one."
She realized that she was rambling on about herself. She cursed under her breath and looked over at him for a second. She smiled gently and patted the empty space next to her. The young girl was trying to get him to sit beside her. She wanted to give him a bit of a lecture. She didn't care if he would take it into consideration, but she at least wanted to inform him. "So...you're not gonna go there alone?" she repeated, "just remember that everyone is weak and vulnerable when they're by themselves, but they're mighty in numbers. Keep your friends really close, okay? If you do that, you'll be invincible. Don't forget that." It was a shame that she couldn't even take her own advice.

The fire devil shook his head. "No, that's not what I meant. I'm older than I look, Mihoko. Way older. Old enough that I knew what it was like to watch over the humans as slaves, like the old tales mention. To bathe in their fear, like I had used to. Now, I'm just a shadow of my former self, too caring to kill a human, or even scare them. I've... changed." Blaze sighed and sat down on the ground to mope.
