The fire laughed quietly. "I wasn't referring to the pudding. I'm going to make a cake for later." Blaze smirked and took off into a run. "Bet you can't catch me!!" The fire demon dodged through the streets, making sure she stayed in his hindsight so he didn't lose her, slowing down if he got too far away. Eventually he made it to the outskirts and then his lonely run down two story home.

She blinked and had no idea what he was talking about at first. "...you weren't?" She grinned happily when he said he was going to make a cake later. She stopped for a few moments just to jump around excitedly. Mihoko heard him take off and her grin widened. She enjoyed playing chase. "Oh, ho, ho. You're a silly one....," she chuckled, her pupils reverting to mere slits. She dashed after him once she put Emily back in her bag. She watched as he ran through the streets.
"Tricky, tricky, Blaze. I know what you're doing. That's very clever of you to not run in a straight line!" The cat girl praised him for his cleverness and continued after him. The two made there way to the outskirts of the town and to a two story house. The feline caught up to him and stuck out her arm, trying to tap his shoulder. "Almost got you...."

"Almost. But not close enough!" Blaze smirked as he opened the door to his home. It wasn't even locked. "Sorry about the mess." The fire devil tried to flick on the lights but nothing happened. He shook his head and walked into the kitchen, checking his fridge. There was still power. Good. He then searched his cabinets for the pudding and found two vanilla and two chocolate pudding mix boxes. He quickly grabbed two bowls and the milk. "Hey, you want to make the pudding while I make the cake?" Blaze asked Mihoko as he reached into the cabinets for the cake mix. Yummy, he had chocolate cake mix of the cake he had mentioned earlier.

She didn't get to catch him like she wanted. She blamed her short arms for that. The fire demon opened the door to his home and tried to turn on the lights. Nothing happened and he checked the refrigerator. She followed after him and hoped that his food wasn't spoiled. Mihoko grabbed the pudding packs and shook them lightly. "I want to make the pudding," she grinned happily. She liked baking, but she had issues with raw eggs.
"I'm such a walking contradiction. Eggs are messy and they feel gross. You can make the cake. Hey, I have a question. Does your oven use gas or electric?"

"I.. had it modified for me, actually. It works more like a grill than an oven, if you get what I mean." Blaze answered Mihoko, chuckling softly. He reached into the fridge to get the eggs. "If not, I'll show you in a minute." He cracked the eggs open and then mixed them with the cake mix, sugar, milk, and other ingredients. He then reached into the lower cabinets for a cake tin and poured the mix into it. The oven had no knobs on it like a normal stove, though the spot where they once were had tiny holes.
Blaze opened the oven door and placed the cake tin on the center rack before closing it. The thing about cake is you had to be still, else the cake would get an air bubble and go all lopsided. He sat down next to the oven. There was crevice large enough for Blaze's arm to slide into comfortably next to the stove. He slid his arm in and rested his palm against a special indent on the side of the stove. The heating coils in the oven began to turn red.

"Oh?" She was interested in what he would use as an alternative. While he started getting the ingredients for the cake, she took the vanilla pudding package out of the box. She knew exactly how she wanted to make it. Mihoko was going to make the vanilla pudding first and once that chilled, she would use another bowl to make the chocolate pudding. After that one chilled, she would put the chocolate over the vanilla pudding. The cat girl looked up and noticed that Blaze had the mix in a cake tin. He put it in the oven and she watched as he baked the cake. She giggled, realizing how he was going to get the cake to bake.
"Ah, I should have known! That's very creative, Blaze," she praised him for his creativity and put the mix into her bowl and added milk. She mixed it around vigorously and grinned to herself. "I don't have a home to call my own and sometimes I'm low on money so trying to pamper myself is kind of difficult. I have to use cheap stuff like baking soda and vinegar to keep my hair clean. It's not so bad, though. It makes you more resourceful."

"Fire is my game, and I can control the temperature of the air as well. Though, I can't decrease it to the point it's cold. However, I do make an awesome heater!" He snorted in laughter, before resting his head back. Time seemed to fly in the cat demoness' presence and soon the cake was done baking. When he heard she was homeless, he offered. "You can stay here whenever you like if you want. It's a bit far from the city and demons lurk about, but this is my territory so nothing big will cross it. Just a bunch of lessers and.... Hellhounds. Like the one sniffing your foot."

Hours had passed and Mihoko finished making both the vanilla and chocolate pudding. She placed the chocolate pudding over the vanilla and chuckled. She was quite proud of herself. The redhead laughed at Blaze and pitched in, "Oh, yeah? Well, during the winter months, I'm gonna stay with you so you can be my personal space heater." Her smile faded when he offered her a place to stay. She was very grateful, but refused.
"That's kind of you, but I'm okay. I don't want to be a burden. Besides, I'm already owned. I belong to Dante now," she said with pride, pointing to herself. She didn't know how wrong that actually sounded. When the fire demon mentioned a hellhound, she blinked. There was one sniffing her foot at that moment? Mihoko looked down and noticed it. Her tail bushed up and she shrieked. Why didn't she notice it before? "Stealthy little buggers, aren't they? It was here the whole time?"

"You don't have to live here, just stay over occasionally." Blaze smirked at the part about the cat belonging to Dante. Perverted as he was, he couldn't help but point that out. "Oh, so Dante owns you now?" He grinned widely and snickered. He then stared at the Hellhound and growled. It whimpered and ran off to hide. "Yeah its been here the whole time. I told you a few weeks ago that they liked to invade my home, did I not?"

She saw his smirk and she folded her arms. She wanted to know what he was smirking about. Mihoko didn't understand why he was putting so much emphasis on the word own until she finally understood. She gasped and her cheeks turned red. She covered her face even though she really didn't have to since it was dark. "...I....I didn't mean it that way! You're a naughty person!" The cat shouted angrily, taking a step back. Blaze chuckled and then stared at the demon dog, growling at it. It whimpered and ran off. She sighed in relief once it left.
"...I remember you telling me that! ...I just....didn't believe you." Mihoko realized that she always seemed to yell at the fire demon whenever she was embarrassed. She was still flustered and wondered if he caught on to her habit as well. "And maybe I will stop by occasionally just to bug you," she had calmed down and her cheeks didn't feel hot anymore. She wanted to know where he kept the plates. She wanted to taste the cake he made. "Hey....I....have a stupid question...." The feline fidgeted slightly. She was nervous and wasn't sure how he would respond to it.

Blaze reached into the oven to pull out the cake, grabbing the hot metal with his bare hands. He set the tin on top of the stove before closing the oven door. "You're cute when you blush," he commented as he opened a drawer to pull out a cake knife before he cut the cake into even portions. As he cut the cake, he answered her inquiry with, "Hm?"

She picked at her fingernails as he pulled the cake out of the oven. It wasn't her place to ask him such a personal question. Mihoko continued to mess with her fingernails, trying to calm herself down again. He put the cake on the stove and closed the oven door. The cat girl gasped and clenched her fist. That wasn't something she ever expected to hear him say. "Y-you shut your mouth! You're just teasing me!" Emily noticed that she was yelling again and tried not to laugh out loud. The doll hated to admit it, but the fire demon seemed to know how to put the girl in her place.
She exhaled deeply and started tracing her index finger on the counter. He cut the cake and responded to her with a "hm". She refused to look at him as she spoke. "I...well....," she was having a terrible time putting it into words, or so it seemed. She was just too embarrassed to ask him. "...what does it feel like to be in love? Is it the same for everyone?" Mihoko was fidgeting more and spoke in a whisper. "I want to know so I can avoid it..."

He stopped cutting the cake as he was finished and looked over at her. He reached into his cabinets to get plates for the both of them, pondering on how he would go about answering Mihoko. He placed s slice of the chocolate cake on each of their plates before grabbing his and walking into his main room to sit on the couch. He took small bites of the chocolate cake before he carefully responded, "I.. wouldn't know what love really is. Friendship love, yeah.. But romantic love... doesn't exist for me. I've had a few flings here and there, but I was never serious. Human emotions I tend to lack... As I live like a demon, even though I take on this human form. I'm a devil, Mihoko and I always will be. Instinct over emotion."

She ended up putting a big blob of pudding on her plate. She grinned happily and ran after him. She put her messenger bag down on the floor and sat next to the fire demon. Mihoko picked up her slice of cake with her bare hands and took a big bite. The cake was delicious. She would definitely compliment him once she finished. The cat girl frowned. She was hoping for a better answer.
"Instinct over emotion. That's how I'll avoid it, then. Romantic love only gets you into trouble, right? Ain't no one gonna get into this girl's heart!" Mihoko chuckled to herself and finished off her piece of cake. She licked her fingers and started eating the pudding. She forgot to get a spoon so she started eating it like a barbarian. She licked the plate, getting a bit of the pudding on her nose. "Oh, I almost forgot. You're really good at baking. I might have to get another piece." She smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up.

"I've learned to bake like that so I can control the temperature of the air precisely and evenly in battle, as it was an exercise I did just to hone my skills until I used it every time I bakes anything in the oven. Now I'm a really good cook." The fire devil smirked and winked at Mihoko. "Glad you like it." He leaned over to lick the pudding off her nose, to show how comfortable he was around her. He usually would never do such a thing to a female, but she was masculine in looks.
